I stayed home from work yesterday to nurse my newest ailment, which I have self-diagnosed to be some sort of cold. I felt pretty bad yesterday morning and the thought of dragging myself down to the bus station to ride the metro into work was so unappealing I decided to stay in bed. My sinuses were hurting and my bathroom issues have not gone away. It was so nice to be home. I wish I could stay home every day.
I watched a lot of shows on having babies on TLC since it’s baby week and all. Birth Day, Bringing Home Baby, I didn’t know I was pregnant, and Deliver Me…all very interesting. I wish they had more detail on Birth Day. I want to know exactly what to expect, but I know they leave out all the gory stuff that I have briefly heard about. There’s no way I would ever let anyone video tape a baby coming out of my body, even if it is blurred out. I can’t watch that part anyway anymore. Anything bloody makes me queasy. I used to not mind a little blood and guts but now I make my husband change the station if there is anything violent on tv.
I really enjoy food and the two things I was most looking forward to about being pregnant was being able to eat more and not having to fast every month (probably shouldn’t admit that). The cruel twist of fate of the whole thing is that now my appetite has gone down to nil. The thought of food makes me nauseous and I have to make myself eat something every day, so sad. Hopefully this turns around in the next trimester. It would really be a shame to waste my entire pregnancy forcing myself to eat and then go right back to dieting.
I’m a little nervous for our first OB appointment this afternoon. Hopefully everything is going ok in there. With the appearance of this huge new zit on my chin my hormones are definitely on full tilt so I guess that’s a good sign. I’m feeling fatter, zittier, and crappier than ever so that baby better be growing like a weed.
