This weekend was my husband's Air Force Reserve weekend so I did some cleaning, ruining my new manicure, luckily I do my own nails so it's not really that big of a deal. We went to Old Navy where I picked up a pair of maternity jeans that had a hole in the band so I got 50% off and Hubby got a sweater that was on sale just so we could have an excuse to get baby clothes. We have a GAP card so we got the deal that for every adult item you buy you get a free kid's item of equal or lesser value. So Beanie has two new items I have been eyeing on oldnavy.com for some time now. I'm sort of in love with these stripped one-piece out fits.
We also went to Target and bought some furniture. We're in the process of reorganizing our apartment. Our goal is that we will make enough room for baby while simultaneously re-purposing some of the furniture we already own and buying new furniture that will better suite our needs, without making the place look like something you'd see on Hoarders. We will need to change things up more when it gets closer to the due date since we will need to put the baby bed up, but so far we're liking the progress.
We are getting rid of a pile of boxes in our living room and bought a new utility cabinet to store kitchen gadgets and other things that have been just sitting out. It looks so much tidier. My husband is sort of obsessed with these cabinets and wants to get one for each room (so that would be the living room and bed room). They are nice, but they are plastic so I don't really want them outside of the kitchen area. He thinks this is being overly concerned with appearances and he may eventually convince me, but for now I remain unconvinced.
We also bought an 8 cube organizer for our bedroom for the baby's stuff with totes. I wanted something with shelves and drawers and this was the best we could come up with. We haven't actually assembled it yet. That will be a job for this week after we put the TV on my old bedstand, which is actually supposed to be used for a TV. We're going to get rid of the current entertainment center, which is really a big desk.
We also went to Babies-r-us and checked out all the gliders and strollers. We found that the more expensive gliders are much nicer and we haven't decided on the strollers. We were really just looking at the Graco and Chicco travel systems. None of them had everything we were looking for. Over all the expensive Graco strollers were much easier to collapse and unfold and the Chicco strollers were lighter and slightly cuter. There was one Graco stroller we could not unfold after collapsing it and we just had to set it back on the display area folded up. We're definitely not getting that one!
Saturday night we went out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant with our good friends who we just recently found out are also expecting (in April). We had to go out for a meal to celebrate our mutual good fortune and discuss ad nauseam various baby products and recent maternity clothes purchases.
The baby name of the week: Wyatt.

Btw are the old navy jeans I gave you still too big? Yes, Chicco is a light stroller but I like Graco! :)I can't wait until you finish your registry so I can figure out what I am going to buy you. I love shopping at Babies R Us, Target, etc. Well...shopping anywhere!
